How drafts and auto-reply work (and when to turn them off)

5 min readUpdated May 2026

The AI never takes over your inbox by surprise. It starts in draft-only mode — it writes a reply, you tap to send. Auto-reply is always a setting you choose, never the default.

Draft mode (the default)

For each incoming message the bot drafts a reply in your tone. You read it, edit if needed, and send. Average draft time is about 0.4 seconds, so it’s ready as fast as you can read.

Switching on auto-reply

Once you’ve sent roughly 50 drafts unchanged, Buvvo asks if you’d like to flip routine questions to auto-reply. You stay in control of which kinds of messages it handles.

What it will never auto-reply to

  • Refunds and complaints.
  • Anything mentioning “lawyer” or “wahala”.
  • New product enquiries you haven’t priced.
  • The first message from any first-time customer.
This “no-touch” list is editable any time in Inbox → My bot. To turn auto-reply off entirely, switch the bot back to draft-only there.
